Sushi, Ginza, Sake, Let's Party

The month is March, the City is Ginza, the meal is sushi, the night was amazing

We were simply given an address and a time.  Taxi, walking, u turns, re-tracing our steps, entering and exiting lobby and lobby trying to find the right building.  Finally we reached our destination.

Sushi Uoyu

This dashing character is a British Secret Service, or Scottish, I get the two confused all the time.....

Please take your shoes off before you eat

And now let's just dive right in.

This is an appetizer and it's small raw squid, some seaweed, and a squirt of jizz

Accompanying dishes await the next course

Sashimi Plate

Amaebi (Sweet Shrimp)

Super raw, super yummy

Giant clam

Super terrible

Chewy, tough, rough, blech

Just in time

The rest of the plate kicked ass

Various types of fish

And this guy too.  Doesn't get fresher than that

They sashimi'd his body and made a sauce from his liver, the pink stuff to the left.  Ginger and fish eggs and other stuff are offered as condiments.

Fish Flesh

Yesssssssssssssssssssss, just in time

Karaage

Normally this is chicken but can also be fish, like this is.  The pepper was also really tasty.

Arigato gozaimasu Shin-chan

Grilled crab and some fish bones with a sparse amount of meat

Steamed clam course, light and refreshing

SUSHI!

This is an individual portion

I honestly forget what the heck this was.  I think I liked it but who really knows at this point?.....

One would think that desert being served would signal the end to the meal.....

One would be wrong

JWL has arrived, and he's ready to party

And he wants more sake

And more

And more.

This from the guy that has to get on a flight in 2 hours, the rest of us are leaving in the morning.

Total utter destruction, but what a way to go.

I think the Secret Agent Man and I enjoyed a glass of Scotch at the bar atop our hotel after, but I cannot confirm that positively.

As Confucius always said

"Sake party in Ginza?  Hell yeah!"
