OK, Here we go..... I think it only fair to start with this photo as this trip to Tokyo, and the inspiration of these two guys with me in the photo, really kicked off my interest in exploring food, photographing said eats, and sharing/explaining my impressions of my experiences. So, to you David Chang and Anthony Bourdain, Cheers, and thanks. As I begin I think it only fair to explain a bit of what my purpose with this blog is. As you know, I do not participate in Facebook, and I wont go into why here, but I NEEDED a vehicle to communicate and connect with those in my life, both near and far. As the name implies, this will primarily be a blog about pizza. However, as this is mine, I will feel free to do and say as I damn well please, as it pleases me. So I hope to not offend or tiptoe too far over the line of appropriateness, but if I do, that's just too fucken bad. Enjoy. Pizza, food, life experiences, thoughts, feelings, rants, and more food. This is what you will find here. Please feel free to share and pass along to anyone you think might have an interest, as I hope you will as well. Sincerely yours, DVA

Swami's Cafe North Park - San Diego - USA

You might be thinking that last weekend is over, but you'd be wrong...  It continues on!

There's nothing better than capping off a great weekend than with a Sunday Brunch.  And there's a spot in NP that is not all that new, I've just never tried it before.  It's just west of 30th on University and used to be a vegan restaurant, that shockingly went out of business!  :-O

Oh, I've got nothing against vegan or veggie, but I ate there a few times and the food looked like diarrhea.  You eat first with you eyes, so you gotta start on the right foot.  They did't get it.

One of the reasons we are headed to this spot is the juice kick that I'm on these days, thanks to my buddies and their new show "Day of Gluttony", here's a link:

Super awesome and fun, check em out!

So we're off to Swami's in North Park.  It's a short 20 minute walk from home on a beautiful day.

My partner in crime is having more coffee....even though she's already had a gallon at home, but who's judging?

Along with that refreshing beverage she's also enjoying an omelet (I think it's the ABC, Avocado Bacon Cheddar, but don't hold me to that)  it obviously comes with potatoes and toast.  Looks quite decent.

I'm having the Wheat Grasshopper, wheat grass, apple and lemon juice.  Feels so healthy!!!!!!  Honestly, delicious.  I love all this juice I'm drinking lately.  Raw, vegan, fresh, natural.  It's what your body needs.  Juice it up!

And, one of the daily specials, House Made Chorizo Hash.  Chorizo, potatoes, eggs, jalapeños, sriracha, cotija, other stuffs.

Doesn't that look killer?!?!?!?!?!

I added a side of black beans and I am now in heaven.  So much flavor, so much food.  If you are in the hood, or not, you need to try this place.  EYE want to try this place again.  Dinner, lunch, more juice.  Other than parking, this place has it all.

Eat it

Juice it

Just DO IT!!!!!

DVA
